Bring a suitable USB-C power source for the Away unit, rated to supply 5V/3A. A USB-C connector alone does not guarantee enough power. The one-time Home unit setup needs a laptop with an Ethernet port. Most newer laptops, including MacBooks, don't have one: you'll need a USB-to-Ethernet adapter (not included, about $10; USB-C or USB-A to match your laptop).
